Soke Richard Morris 10th Dan and the founder of Jiu Jitsu International, developed a no nonsense Jiu Jitsu style. with over 50 years of training, teaching and passing down his knowledge through out the world, Soke Richard Morris has become one of the most respectable and well known figures in martial arts.
Shihan Helder Nunes the international coordinator of Jiu Jitsu International who is based out of Portual, has been a key figure in teaching and passing down the art through some of his top students like Sensei Pat Lavigne 3rd Dan and Sensei Mike Carrier 3rd Dan.
My experience with Jiu Jitsu International came after meeting Sensei Pat, owner of Balance Martial Arts. I was blown away by the simple yet very effective techniques of controlling and taking down your opponents. Sensei Pat's approach was " use what works, and limit the amount of steps needed to subdue your opponent".

Ju Jutsu also spelled Jiu Jitsu in Europe, translated means gentle art, but by no means is it a gentle art. It is a traditional martial art which can be traced back to ancient Japan.
Jiu Jitsu uses a direct and common sense approach when dealing with aggressive individuals. The art teaches one to be in control of a situation and to respond automatically with the approriate force. The hand to hand combat techniques of Jiu Jitsu consists of throws, joint locks, joint manipulation, tearing of the ligaments, breaking bones, strikes, disruption of air and blood flow. All these techniques were used when the samurai's lost their weapons in battle.
